Signs for change
Join the World Cancer Day social media campaign by choosing a sign featuring one of the ‘We Can. I Can’ key messages, post a photo of yourself holding a Sign for Change Selfie Card and share on social media platforms using the hashtags #WorldCancerDay and #WeCanICan.

Did you know that lifestyle choices can make a big difference to your risk of cancer? World experts estimate that more than half of all cancers could be prevented through a combination of healthy lifestyle and regular screening. Visit Cancer Australia’s Check your cancer risk tool to assess your individual lifestyle choices including weight and diet, physical activity, alcohol consumption, smoking and sun exposure. Join the Thunderclap campaign
A Thunderclap campaign has been created for World Cancer Day 2018. Thunderclap is a tool that facilitates the mass dissemination of a message via Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr by simultaneously posting to the accounts of those who support the campaign. This is a great way to give the campaign visibility and increase the chances of ‘trending’ on social media platforms.
For the Thunderclap to go live, the support of a minimum of 250 individuals for the message to be broadcast. Sign up to Thunderclap on Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr and join the WCD 2018 Campaign.

World Cancer Day, held each year on 4 February, is an initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), a leading international non-governmental organisation that unites the cancer community to reduce the global cancer burden.
A truly global event, World Cancer Day unites the world’s population in the fight against cancer. It aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about the disease and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action.
